A black bear in Oakridge, New Jersey, was seen around town walking on two legs. People were totally mystified! Was this an elaborate prank? NOPE! The bear, nicknamed Vinnie, had two injured front paws so he used his hind legs instead of all four. Some people questioned why he wasn’t captured and taken to the veterinarian for help. Well, because he’s doing just fine! Bears have no problem walking on their hind legs…and to sedate him, catch him, transport him and then x-ray, poke and prod, etc. would be very traumatic for this beautiful bear. Most minor injuries like this one, will heal on their own just fine.

The bear, nicknamed Vinnie, had two injured front paws so he used his hind legs instead of all four. Some people questioned why he wasn’t captured and taken to the veterinarian for help.
